so many changes.....so fast!

Well, today I am 16 weeks pregnant! This is where the whole pregnancy math gets confusing.....16 wks is 4 months right?? Well, I still have 5 1/2 months to go. You would think that girls would learn sooner than when they get pregnant that pregnancy (assuming things go as planned) lasts LONGER than 9 mos. Just sayin'....

So as you will see below, I now have the "not looking pregnant:" thing covered. It seems like I got a belly over night....I mean, I knew it was getting bigger, but then I woke up one day and couldn't suck it in anymore! I am, at the moment, dealing with the emotions that come along with that. I am so thrilled that I actually look pregnant now! And it definitely makes the whole having a baby thing so much more real. On the other hand, for the last 28 years I have worked towards keeping my abdomen from protruding past my breasts, that is no longer! Dan actually took me shopping the other day to get some real maternity clothes. Thank God women today believe in being fashionably pregnant, or you guys would have to suffer through me trying to stuff my huge ass into what is currently in my closet....not pretty. But there is no way in hell i would succome to the early decades where you just tossed on a mumu and houseshoes and called it a day ;-)  Things are still kind of big on me, but judging from how quickly my weight is going up and my pre-pregnancy jeans are shrinking, they should be good to go in no time ;-)

Another first for me came this past Tuesday. I actually felt my first MJ movement :) It was quick and soft and before I could even comprehend what was going on, it was over.....but it was awesome all the same. Now, I keep trying to recreate that exact moment in the hopes that my little flutter will happen again, but no such luck......UNTIL about 3 minutes ago, I would swear I felt our little angel practicing his/her high kicks once again. Talk about being on cloud nine :) This pregnancy thing just keeps getting cooler.

Besides that, not much has been going on with me. My next Dr. appt is May 20th. That is the day that we will find out what little MJ is! I know the Joneses are holding out for a little boy to carry on the name, but considering that between our two families, all we seem to create is beautiful little girls....I guess we really will just have to wait and see :)

Well, until next time......I leave you with a picture I never thought I would post unless it was a "before" to my Jillian Michaels-like "after" photo ;-)

Floating on a cloud.....

So, today I am a 14 week Preggernaut. I had my 4th Dr. appointment today and they are becoming a lot less scary and a lot more exciting :) Today, my doctor just took my weight (yikes!), blood pressure and measured MJ's heartbeat. She said all of my blood work came back completely perfect and so far everything was going just great! MJ's heart rate was 150. I asked if that was fast or slow....she said it was in the normal range, but on the faster side. In my mind I was already thinking - GIRL! But she addressed that very quickly....she said that often times, the heart rate is faster when they are smaller and that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the gender, regardless of the old wives tale. Also, my little MJ was an active bugger today! He/she kept moving around to where the doctor had to keep tracking him down to find the heart beat again. I was so amazed that there was so much movement going on inside of me, yet I couldn't feel a thing!!

I think everything is still just so surreal, that I have yet to fully grasp what's going on. Whatever it is....it gets more incredible everytime I hear that little sound. Its awesome. I never thought I could love something so much, that I haven't even met yet.

So, next doctors appointment is going to be in 5 weeks. She wanted me to be closer to 20 weeks so we could do the sonogram on the same day to FINALLY find out if little MJ is a Michael or a Mia :)

As far as I am concerned, I have still been feeling fine....I am starting to show a little more, and I definitely FEEL more pregnant these days. I am quickly eliminating jeans that no longer button without producing muffin top, and slowly adding to my collection of long dresses, which will most likely be my wardrobe for the duration ;-)

I guess thats about it for now!! I think I finally figured out how to notify people when I do update the blog, so if that gets annoying, let me know and I will undo the setting. Otherwise, keep me and MJ in your prayers and I will write more when there's more to write!

Lots going on, not much to say....

Hello again friends! I am now 13 weeks and 4 days pregnant....I can honestly say, I never thought I would be here, but I'm so glad that I am :) Over the last couple weeks A LOT has been going on! Not so much with little MJ, although I am feeling Large and In Charge these days so I guess he/she's definitely growing. But aside from my uterus, the Jones house has been a busy place!

We just found out last week that Dan was offered (and accepted) a position for a company called Flexi Compras. I'm not exactly positive what the company is all about, but judging from my 2 1/2 yrs of minoring in Spanish in college, I would guess its a flexible buying company of sorts. We were a little concerned when he was interviewing that his salary increase wouldn't make up the difference we were going to have to pay for the COBRA (completely ridiculous) insurance we knew we needed during his 3 month probationary period, but seeing as how Dan apparently is some sort of magic finance guru, the company offered to reimburse us that expense, so that is one less worry :) He starts there on April 25th so the next 2 weeks at his current job are going to be super nightmare-ish with transitioning his functions over to other people, BUT once its done, he gets to start fresh at a new company with a bright future! We both (well I guess I should say ALL of us) are really looking forward to it!

Aside from that big news, I have been taking classes to get my Teaching Certificate. I started back in February and my last class will be the 30th of this month. I'm not sure how many of you know my plans for after MJ is born, so those who do, bear with me...The first week in October, assuming everythingn goes as planned, will be my last week at Pestworks. I have been here for 4 1/2 years...hard to believe, but I think it was keeping me busy until I could fulfill my real dream, being a mom. I plan on staying home for a little while and when I do return to work, I will be starting in a whole new field....teaching. I initally went to school and majored in psychology with the hopes of becoming a school counselor. Well, I'm only about 6 years late, but I am finally taking steps towards using that pesky degree that I fought so hard for!

Besides that, not much else is new. Luckily things have remained calm, and we have remained in good health, minus last weekend when we were both wishing we had gotten a 2 bathroom apartment, but that's neither here nor there. So, next Dr. appt Friday, and more to come then!!
